ANIMAL SIGHTINGS May 25, 2008, Patty Park at her house, the Thompsons', at their house, and Cheryl Kacher, where the bear peeked over the edge of the deck where their hot tub sits.
May 24, 2008, from
Sherry Brewer: Earlier this week Sid [Roberts] came almost face to face with
a large male bobcat in his back yard. He watched as it went across his yard
and up hill across Whispering Pine Lane. He said he had never been THAT
close to a bobcat before. About the time he called us to warn us about the
bobcat, Chuck was working on the grape arbor in the garden and a deer came
down our lower driveway at full speed and he wondered why it was in such a
hurry.

Be
advise while yours truly was walking on Cedar Ridge Lane
on August 6th a black bear walked across the road in front
of my path. The bear and I looked at each other, neither
said a word or gave way. The bear took two steps away from
from me, looked over its shoulder at me, took two more
steps and another look then walked into the woods. I
won----- this time. July 5, 2004
Kipling/Meek Home, lumbered through garden at twilight PM
to road and off to the Vickers. June 29, 2004 Mike Park today he informed me that he had a visit from a 300 lb bear at his back deck. He even went outside and took some photos. June 28, 2004 Just noticed the item on the GI web page about notifying you of bear sightings. About five weeks ago one of the adolescent bears broke through the lattice work in our crawl space to get at some suet I had double-wrapped and put in a locking can. It returned the next night but just hung out in the yard until I shone a light on it. No big damage done. And last night another youngster climbed a tree in the yard--the tree I've got a cable attached to hang feeders--but encountered my nixalite barrier and climbed back down, then moved off up the hill. Sure hope the bears stay out of trouble so they'll remain safe! Thanks, Richard Bondi (lot 11) Photos (Click photos to view enlarged picture. Use your browser "back" button to return to this page)
